Two answers, one area
A square-foot figure is exact, but a marla figure depends on which marla the seller, society or record is using. The converter above divides by 225, the size most modern housing societies use. Switch the To unit to Marla, revenue (272.25 sq ft) for older plots, rural deeds and land revenue records.
| Area | In 225 sq ft marla | In 272.25 sq ft marla |
|---|---|---|
| 500 sq ft | 2.22 | 1.84 |
| 1,000 sq ft | 4.44 | 3.67 |
| 1,500 sq ft | 6.67 | 5.51 |
| 2,000 sq ft | 8.89 | 7.35 |
| 3,000 sq ft | 13.33 | 11.02 |
| 4,500 sq ft | 20 (1 kanal) | 16.53 |
Measuring an irregular plot
Most plots are rectangles, so width × depth gives the square footage. For an L-shaped or angled plot, split it into rectangles and triangles, work out each area in square feet, add them up, and convert the total once. Converting each piece to marla first and rounding along the way adds error.
To go the other way, use marla to square feet. For square meters, acres or hectares, the full area converter covers every unit.
