Beginner Projects
Prerequisites: Level 1 — Beginner
Build these with nothing but what Level 1 covered — variables, arrays, functions, and basic pointers.
1. Command-Line Calculator
Read two numbers and an operator (+ - * /) with scanf, then print the
result. Handle division by zero with a friendly message instead of letting
the program crash.
2. Number Guessing Game
Seed rand() with srand(time(NULL)), generate a number between 1 and
100, then loop reading guesses and printing "Too high" / "Too low" until
the player guesses correctly. Count and print the number of attempts.
3. Temperature Converter
Prompt for a temperature and a unit (C or F), convert it to the other
unit, and print the result to two decimal places with printf's %.2f.
4. Fixed-Size To-Do List
Use a char array of fixed-length task strings (e.g.
char tasks[10][50]) and an int count tracking how many are filled.
Loop, presenting a menu (add / list / quit) until the user chooses to quit.
5. Simple Quiz App
Store 5 questions and their correct answers in parallel char arrays.
Ask each question, compare the answer with strcmp, and print a final
score out of 5.
