Beginner Projects
Prerequisites: Level 1 — Beginner
Build these on your own using what you learned in Level 1. Each one uses functions, vectors, maps, conditionals, and sequence functions.
1. Number Guessing Game
Pick a random number from 1 to 100 with (inc (rand-int 100)), read
guesses with read-line and parse-long, say "higher" or "lower", and
count attempts in a loop/recur.
2. To-Do List
Keep tasks as a vector of maps ({:title ... :done? false}). Write pure
functions to add, complete, and remove tasks, and a function that prints the
list numbered with map-indexed.
3. Word Frequency Counter
Split a paragraph into words with clojure.string/split, lower-case them,
count them with frequencies, and print the ten most common with
sort-by and take.
4. Grade Book
Represent students as maps with a name and a vector of scores, compute each
average, assign a letter grade with cond, and print a report using
format.
5. Unit Converter
Write functions that convert temperatures, distances, and weights, and use
for to print a conversion table.
