The .NET Ecosystem: Beyond the Console
Prerequisites: Packaging & deployment
Everything in this course is directly reusable across .NET's several application models, all sharing the same C# language and much of the same standard library:
- ASP.NET Core — web APIs and full web applications (covered directly in this course).
- .NET MAUI — a single codebase targeting Windows, macOS, iOS, and Android desktop/mobile apps.
- Unity — the game engine mentioned in Why Learn C#, using its own (older) scripting runtime rather than the latest .NET, but the same C# language.
- Blazor — building web UIs in C# instead of JavaScript, running either on the server or directly in the browser via WebAssembly.
Which of these to explore next mostly comes down to what you want to build, not needing to relearn the language underneath it.
