What Can You Do With HTML?
With HTML (plus a little CSS and JavaScript later) you can:
- Build websites — personal pages, portfolios, blogs, business sites, and documentation.
- Create forms — sign-ups, surveys, search boxes, checkouts — with built-in validation that works without any JavaScript.
- Publish media — images that adapt to screen size, video with captions, audio players.
- Present data — accessible tables and description lists.
- Make content findable — titles, descriptions, social previews, and structured data that search engines turn into rich results.
- Build interfaces — disclosure widgets, dialogs, and popovers built into the language, and your own reusable elements with web components.
- Write HTML email — newsletters and transactional emails (with their own quirks, covered in Level 3).
- Generate documents — many tools turn HTML into PDFs and printable reports.
You'll build smaller versions of several of these in the project lessons at the end of each level.
