Knowing what R is used for makes it easier to stay motivated while learning the basics:

• Statistical models — regression, hypothesis tests, time-series forecasting, survival analysis, and much more.
• Charts and visualizations — from quick exploratory plots to publication-quality figures.
• Reports and documents — automated reports, research papers, books, slides, and websites with Quarto.
• Interactive dashboards — web apps built with Shiny.
• Machine learning models — with the tidymodels framework.
• Data APIs — R functions exposed as web services with plumber.

You will build smaller versions of several of these in the project lessons at the end of each level.
