Beginner Projects
Prerequisites: Level 1 — Beginner
Build these on your own using what you learned in Level 1. Each one uses variables, conditions, loops, arrays, and procedures.
1. Number Guessing Game
Pick a random number from 1 to 100 with Random.Shared.Next(1, 101), read
guesses with Console.ReadLine, answer "higher" or "lower", and count the
attempts. Use Integer.TryParse so input that isn't a number doesn't
crash the program.
2. Loan Payment Calculator
Ask for a loan amount, a yearly interest rate, and a number of years, then
print the monthly payment and total interest as Decimal values formatted
to two places. Put the formula in its own Function.
3. Grade Report
Store student names and scores in two arrays, compute each student's
letter grade with Select Case, and print an aligned table plus the class
average, highest, and lowest scores.
4. Multiplication Table
Print a 10 by 10 multiplication table with nested For loops, with every
column right-aligned using .PadLeft.
5. Simple Menu Program
Show a text menu in a Do ... Loop (convert temperatures, check whether a
year is a leap year, reverse a word, quit) and call a separate Sub or
Function for each option.
