Prerequisites: Level 2 — Intermediate
Build these using patterns, rules, symbolic math, associations, Dataset, and plotting from Level 2.
1. Symbolic Calculus Helper
Write a function that takes an expression and a variable and returns an
association with its derivative, antiderivative, critical points (from
Solve), and a plot marking those points with Epilog.
2. CSV Data Report
Create a sales CSV (the Random CSV Generator
makes test data quickly), import it as a Dataset, and compute totals per
region and month, the best-selling product, and a bar chart of monthly
revenue.
3. A Tiny Rewrite System
Represent simple algebra (plus, times, numbers, and symbols) as
expressions and write rules that simplify them — plus[x, 0] -> x,
times[x, 1] -> x, constant folding — applying them with //. until
nothing changes. Compare your results with Simplify.
