What Can You Do With the Wolfram Language?
Knowing what the Wolfram Language is used for makes it easier to stay motivated while learning the basics:
- Solve math problems — algebra, calculus, differential equations, linear algebra, number theory, and statistics, symbolically or numerically.
- Visualize — 2D and 3D plots, charts, maps, and animations, often in one line.
- Analyze data — import CSV, Excel, JSON, and databases, then clean, query, summarize, and model it.
- Build interactive tools —
Manipulateturns any computation into an app with sliders and buttons. - Publish and deploy — share notebooks on the web, and deploy web APIs and forms to the Wolfram Cloud with one function call.
- Work with images, sound, and text — filters, feature detection, speech, and natural language processing are built in.
- Model and simulate — physics, engineering systems, and finance.
You'll build smaller versions of several of these in the project lessons at the end of each level.
