Prerequisites: Level 3 — Advanced
Build these using macros, ODS, the statistical procedures, and the production practices from Level 3.
1. A Reusable Reporting Macro
Write a macro %profile(data=, class=, vars=) that prints PROC CONTENTS,
summary statistics per class level, frequency tables for every character
variable, and a histogram for each numeric variable, all into one PDF with a
title page. Test it on three different SASHELP data sets.
2. A Regression Study
Choose a data set (SASHELP.CARS works well), explore it with PROC MEANS,
PROC CORR, and scatter plots, fit a linear regression for a continuous
outcome and a logistic regression for a yes/no outcome you create, save the
parameter estimates with ODS OUTPUT, and write a one-page RTF summary of
what you found.
3. A Monthly Batch Job
Build a program that imports every CSV file in a folder, validates the rows
(logging rejected rows to a separate data set), appends the good rows to a
permanent library, and produces a monthly report — with macro parameters for
the month, a check of &SYSERR after each step, and a log you can read
without warnings.
