Beginner Projects

Prerequisites: Level 1 — Beginner

Build these using only what Level 1 covered — basic types, interfaces, and typed functions. Each is small enough to finish in under an hour.

Typed Calculator

A calculator function that takes two numbers and an operator (as a literal-type union: "+" | "-" | "*" | "/"), returning a number. Concepts used: literal types, functions with types.

Todo List with Interfaces

A Todo interface ({ id: number; text: string; done: boolean }) and an array of them, with typed functions to add and complete an item. Concepts used: interfaces, arrays, functions with types.

Typed Quiz App

A Question interface with text, options: string[], and correctIndex: number, looping through an array of questions and tallying a typed score. Concepts used: interfaces, arrays, unions.

Simple Inventory Tracker

An Item interface (name, quantity, price), with functions to add stock and calculate the total inventory value. Concepts used: interfaces, functions with types, basic error handling (what if quantity is negative?).
